India serves as one of the major man power provider for the Gulf countries. Due to the shortage of nurses in Gulf countries and due to the availability of excessive number of qualified professional nurses in India, India serves as the main destination for gulf recruiters in the process of recruitment of nursing staffs.
According to Health authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) 2009 statistics it is estimated that up to 5,000 additional doctors and 6,500 nurses will be required by 2019 to work in Abu Dhabi. If demand rates remain at their 2009 level, this will require some 1,600 doctors and almost 1,800 nurses to be recruited annually.
To help and support healthcare facilities in recruitment process and reduce financial and search burden and in some cases international travel to reach to qualified medical staff the health authority of Abu Dhabi is conducting health professional examinations (HAAD examination) for Registered Nurses, Practical Nurse, School Health Nurses, Radiographers, Radiographers Technicians and Physiotherapists through 15 computer based active Testing centers in India, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Philippines, Egypt, South Korea, Lebanon and UAE.
