For many years, germany has been one of the European Countries with tuition free programs. Geraman universities are now allowed to charge tuition fees for undergraduate study programmes. Currently, only one of 16 Fedaral states charge tuition fees of up to 500 Euros per semester. The rest of the federal states do not charge tuition fees and only request a certain amount of money as a semester contribution (about 50 euros) plus administration fees(about 50 eoros) for universities in some Federal States.

In most cases, you need to pay tuition fee for Master's and PhD programmes. Fortunately, there are a good number of scholarships for Masters and PhD study in Germany.

The Germany Scholarship Program provides financial and non-material support to high- achieving and committed students from all over the world. The Germany Scholarship supports highly talented students at all participating universities in Germany. The scholarship is awarded without consideration of personal or parent income and one's nationality is not material to award either. The scholarship amounts to 300 EUR per month and is granted for at least two semesters but may be provided for a maximum time which covers the standard period of study.

Daad Scholarship Programs for Post Graduate Courses with Special Relevance to Developing Countries, Heinrich Boll Foundation Scholarships, KAAD Scholorships offer scholorships to international students from various backgrounds, interests, and qualifications. German Universities participatein quite a number of study programs which are funded by Erasmus Mundus Scholarships. The scholarships can finance international students to pursue a participating Erasmus Mundus study program in Germany.
